So, I think that we are pretty much moved in to our cozy little apartment. Needless to say, it has not been an easy feat (dealing with nasty carpets, spiders, mold, etc) After a few KSL Classifieds, and Target buys we are making it feel a lot more like home.
One thing that I really wanted was a headboard. I just thought that I would feel more like a grown up if we had a headboard for our bed. My dad had one just chilling and getting older and older as the days went by, so I decided to use a little bit of creativity and magic and save it :)
The leg on one side was a little broken, no problem- a little waterproof wood glue did the trick!
I sanded the headboard down, and applied a few layers of delicious chocolatey brown paint, and ta-da! I feel more like a grown up.

The old wonderful headboard.
{and my cute dads feet... he was trying to hide from the picture}

My favorite things in the entire world when it comes to refinishing small items
1. Behr premium plus paint in a sample size- perfect for any project
2. Touch up paint kit- it is the perfect roller size, and when you are done just throw away!
*both can be purchased at the Home Depot for about $5 total.

The finished product!
(yes better picture will come someday)
Our room is coming together slowly but surely! We just purchased some lamps for our night stands, and have been hanging up pictures. But for now, I just love it. A little grown up ;)
